A Work at Home Marketer’s Work Day

As a work from home marketer I get to enjoy a lot more freedom than I did working for others. However don’t let that make you think I don’t work hard for my income.

My experience started out a bit shaky but I eventually learned what it takes to be a work from home marketer and is so worth the time it took to learn.

My Daily Commute Is Shorter Now

For a long time I’ve dreamed of working from my home and making a living at it. Now it’s become a reality and the short commute to the office is so cool.

I get up really early, the middle of the night for most people, and never liked waiting hours before I could go to work. Now I can get up a 4am and pretty much go straight to work. It’s nice to have my day done by noon most days.

I don’t use an alarm. I just get up when I wake up and that’s always early and then it’s off to the office to turn on my computer and next the kitchen to start my first coffee of the day. Then I hit the bathroom to freshen up and I’m ready for the day.

First Let’s Dump The Email Spam

Even though I wake up without an alarm I am still a little dopey for a while so this is a good time to get rid of the spam in my email box. It gives me a little time to wake my brain up enough to really start working.

It doesn’t usually take long as my email software kicks most of the trash to the curb. Next I can get to the real email. Just this morning I received 4 guest blog posts for two different niches and 2 other requests from people wanting to guest blog on one of my other niche blogs.

Guest bloggers make my life so much easier today as I have more than a dozen blogs to provide content for.

I Review Each Guest Blog Post

Each guest post is saved in a temp folder so I can come back to them once I have finished with my email checking. Once I have them all saved I check each on to make sure it meets the rules I have set for guest bloggers.

I don’t accept all guest articles as not all follow the rules. Maybe they don’t think I am going to check them but I do and they get rejected.

Some are bad and get rejected but for those that write quality articles and yet make a mistake somewhere, well they always get a second chance with me. Just not the spammers.

It’s usually about this time I head to the kitchen for another cup of java.

I Schedule Publishing Guest Posts

What’s really great about guest articles or posts is that I don’t publish them all at once. I like to have a single post per day or every other day and schedule posts so that the show up exactly when I want them to, even when I’m off fishing with a buddy.

Publish To Article Directories With PR

EzineArticles.com is one of my favourite article directories and is where I publish first. Why, well EA has the toughest guidelines and won’t mess with any duplicate content. So I publish there first, wait for approval, which can take a few day if you’re new there but it’s quick for me.

After I get the email telling me it was accepted I take the article and spin it using The Best Spinner. This makes a few extra articles I can then use for the other article directories which are less strict.

Relevant Blog Commenting

Don’t overlook blog commenting as it can send you a lot of relevant traffic. There are a couple of commenting tips that will help you get your comment accepted.

1. I don’t just leave a generic comment like so many I reject each day. Instead take a few minutes, read the article and then add a comment that adds some extra value to their article. This will usually get the attention of the blog owner. Especially if they moderate their comments like I do.

2. Don’t know enough yet to leave a value added comment, not to worry. You can read the article and then come up with a real question that will help you learn more. People are usually eager to help as it makes them look good and you may go to their site as well.

Note: Be the first to comment. This will mean most people reading the article will see your comment. If you are commenter 27 they may not even see your comment. To make this easier I use Google Feed Reader or Bloglines to monitor the blog feeds I want to comment on. Feed readers are great time savers.

Need More Content Hire A Writer

There may be times you will not be able to come up with all the content you want. I am always looking for more content so I can publish articles all over the place with links back to my money pages. The thing is I need unique content and rewriting isn’t always an option.

Just a few months ago I learned about iwriter.com where I could request articles for the writers there.  The cost was very affordable which kind of led me to thinking maybe it sucked but my concerns quickly faded away.

An example: Just yesterday I made a request for 3 different articles at 500 words each. They were completed, checked through CopyScape for uniqueness and I was notified they were ready for approval. Today they are already scheduled to appear on my blogs.

I kept one of the articles to use as my original for spinning a bunch more in The Best Spinner software.

PageRank Building

Just two weeks ago I got an email from a blogging friend telling me about BuildMyRank.com. She told me it was a great place to publish articles to build my rankings. It wasn’t free like some of the place I’ve used that got me zero results but they do have a 15 day trial and I would have 10 links.

Of course I signed up and started using the system immediately using up my free links in no time. My articles we picked up and published quickly and indexed in a couple of days. That info is available for tracking purposes.

I wrote 4 articles and used iwriter.com for two more articles covering 5 of my niche domains.

The articles are only published once so no duplicate content floating around. My articles got published on a PR4, PR3 and PR2 sites. I don’t have any free links left but I am certainly convinced it’s a good place to be a member and made the commitment to a monthly membership.

And that brings an end to this article, hope it helps you reach new heights. If so let me know by leaving a comment. Maybe you are even a possible guest blogger.

Guest Blog Post by: Work From Home Moncton

Not every one has a product to sell online. I am one of those work from home online marketers who has no products of their own but I don’t mind at all because it doesn’t mean I don’t have products to promote and sell.

It’s great to have an opportunity to sell other people’s products as it means I can go into a whole lot more niches as I can join affiliate networks and promote other people’s products. All I have to do is learn about them and promote them on my blogs.

Affiliate Products To Promote

Today you’ll find affiliate marketing has limitless potential as there are so many products and services one can choose from. Selling affiliate products all day long for the rest of your life and you’d still never come close to selling all the products available.

One of my favourite niches is the home gardening niche as it’s a great way to save money and if you choose to blog about it you have a way to make money blogging. The garden niche is so big that it has many sub niches meaning you will find unlimited products to promote and sell.

Digital Affiliate Products

I use the Clickbank marketplace to find and promote gardening related digital products called ebooks, which are books in digital form so you can read them on your laptop, computer or ipad or Kindle.

You will find other affiliate programs for digital products other than just at Clickbank. You might want to look at PayDotCom.com and eJunkie.com too.

You need to learn all you can about affiliate marketing and Clickbank is the place to look. It was there that I found the Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner and my online business life started making money. Rosalind Gardner is the go to person for all things affiliate marketing.

Non Digital Affiliate Products

Of course all products are not digital so I went looking for other affiliate networks that have physical products I can promote.

There are so many affiliate networks I have joined but my top sales come from just a few I have listed below:

Commission Junction, LinkShare Affiliate and ShareASale Network

Those are just a few affiliate networks I use and they carry a lot more than just garden related affiliate programs. I use a lot of the same affiliate networks for my other niches like fishing and acoustic guitar.

Super Affiliate HandbookI really doesn’t matter what you niche is there will be an affiliate program you could make money with, unless you pick a niche that is so out there that there is little to choose from but for the normal things there are often multiple programs to choose from.

Just as a reminder, it took Rosalind’s Super Affiliate Handbook to get me on the right path to making money with affiliate marketing on my blogs.

Make Your Work From Home Blog Profitable

Most people today seem to start a blog and then start blogging. They don’t bother to do much in the area of research and then they don’t do what it takes to make a blog optimized to get free target traffic from the major search engines.

The fact is traffic doesn’t just happen because you started a blog. You are required to work to make your success happen.

It’s important to know that you are not alone in starting a blog as there are huge numbers that start new blogs every single day. The thing is most don’t know how to create a successful blog yet so you can definitely take the lead if you apply a few tips.

While those other bloggers are burning out spinning their wheels to the point they just give up on blogging your work at home blog can actually excel.

How Can You Improve Your Blog

Super Affiliate HandbookI make most of my money blogging and sharing affiliate programs that make me more money. I started experiencing success after purchasing, reading and apply what I learned reading the Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner.

You need to have a handle on affiliate marketing so that while you’re blogging you can plan how to use your affiliate links in your content in the most effective way. Rosalind will help you get there just like he ebook did for me.

Don’t Clutter It’s Distracting

The more things you stick on your blog, like animated banners and pop-ups that try hard to draw the attention of the visitor. Keep your blog clear of distracting clutter so your visitor will be able to stay focused on the content that will lead them to making you more money.

Focus your visitors attention on your quality content. The less clutter the more focus your content will have.

Target The Best Visitor

target trafficUsing The Right Keywords: Optimization for search engine traffic that’s free otherwise known as target traffic through search engine optimization or SEO. Using the wrong keywords can take an otherwise useful article, that should make you some money, into a non targeted article because of poor keyword choices.

I see so many work from home marketers who use article spinners like The Best Spinner which could really do awesome things for them but they spin the power out of the article. It may still get attention from the search engines but not for words and phrases most humans type in search engines.

This means your content had potential, until their spinner change the focus of the article in a NEGATIVE MANNER.

Affiliate Marketing Focus

stay focusedWhen you write quality articles using a specific keyword focus you can easily share affiliate links and product information that will be exactly what you TARGETED VISTORS are looking for. This means your visitor will stay on your page longer and be likely to return.

The more quality and niche focus the more visitors that return and purchase, the bigger your blog will grow as will your bank account.

Making your work from home blog profitable isn’t brain surgery although when I first started my brain did hurt a bit. The key is to work a niche you know about so that you don’t have to outsource all your content. You need deep pockets if you are going to start a work from home business of blogging in a profitable niche you know nothing about, just because there is money in the niche.

I started my work at home online business in the make money niche which of course I knew nothing about other than that’s where the money is. Well the money wasn’t there for me until I took a step back and learned what I should be doing.

Next I started a home gardening blog, because I know something about gardening and I love gardening, so I wouldn’t be scraping for content after the first month or two.

Anyone Can Create A Quality Blog Post

anyone can blog for profit

I could have created a profitable blog on my first try, but I didn’t. Not because I didn’t want to but because I didn’t know how to yet and thought it had to be easy as so many others were blogging and I assumed they were making money.

I only did a few things wrong but the biggest mistake I made was to chose the wrong market and even when I failed I continued spinning my wheels instead of seeking answers to why I wasn’t making money yet.

Think about this, as it’s something I see pretty much daily.

You have an idea for a good article so you sit down and write a quality article and pop in your links and then you wait. The thing is it’s an article that may have seemed interesting to you but wasn’t to your readers.

That’s not really a quality article if it’s not in the right niche. Ask your visitor and they will tell you but otherwise they just leave the site and you’re left wondering where the income is. For a quality article to work it needs to be in the right place to been seen by the right target market.

Put Only Relevant Things On Your Blog

non relevant thingsI visit a lot of blogs in the course a day and I don’t like wasting my time as time is money, especially for a work from home part time marketer. I like to learn new things so that I have more to write about but that’s not the only reason I visit so many blogs. I also need lots of backlinks to help my sites ranking and get more target traffic so I do a fair bit of value added blog commenting.

So while I’m visiting all these sites, relevant to my own niches of course, I see a ton of things on blogs that shouldn’t be there. It’s not just poor quality content that turns me away. I also get turned away by a blog that’s not focused on keeping me on their site.

What I Look For In Blogs I Comment On

I find or locate the blogs I comment on using Google to search out keyword phrases I use on my own sites and wish to rank better for. I put the quality blogs in my blog feed reader so I can return when there are new blog posts I can comment on.

I invest a lot of my time getting backlinks and commenting but I don’t like to waste my time so I look for specific things that will help me grow my work from home business.

  • blog must be relevant to my own

I don’t want to be leaving comments on non relevant sites as I see it as a complete waste of time when there are relevant blogs to comment on.

  • blog must be optimized for search engine traffic

I like to see a blog where the owner has taken the time to optimize their blog for search engine traffic. One thing I look at here is the filename structure. If I am seeing P123 instead of a keyworded filename I know they aren’t going to get me the attention they could.

  • content must be quality and not over spun crap

Poorly spun articles is a huge problem today, in my humble opinion anyways. If I land on a page and start to read it and find it doesn’t make sense because of poor quality writing or over spinning I leave. If the blogger can’t be bothered to create quality articles I can read I won’t stay or comment.

Give me quality content in my niche and I can give you back a quality value added comment that will benefit both myself, the blog owner and their visitors.

So, really making money through a work from home blogging business is easy if you are willing to learn how to before you continue. Don’t clutter your blog with too many ways for your visitor to leave or be distracted.

Write content that’s focused on your niche and don’t stray off topic and be sure to optimize your blog for search engine traffic. Use The Best Spinner to spin articles but proofread every article before publishing. Be sure you link to relevant things as well so your readers are redirected to a place they didn’t want to be.

It’s all about focusing on the niche at hand and providing a quality experience for your targeted visitors.

I know I say it far too often but the opportunity to work at home and make money online is so cool, as long as you’re willing to learn what’s needed to succeed, first. There is really no doubt that the Internet is one awesome way to earn extra income.

The real key to making money online is to find something that you’re knowledgeable about and if you love it, even better. It works for me in a number of niches that I can’t get enough of.

The thing is you need to love some that people spend money on. Loving walks in the park may not make you much money, however loving something like home gardening has potential as millions of people today are turning to gardening to save a bit of money.

Do You Have Typing Skills

When you put typing skills together with the Internet you have so much potential. If you also have the ability to write well you can be unstoppable.

Typing skills gives one the opportunity to make money typing for others:

  • Data Entry Jobs
  • Medical Transcription
  • Freelance Writing
  • Create PLR – Private Label Rights Articles

You may want to also check out Legit Online Jobs for a great opportunity.

Article marketing today is a great way to promote ones links and pages. It’s how I make my living actually and I’m not even a fast or accurate typist. I really have to use spell checking and grammar but I get the job done.

I Work Affiliate Marketing

So if you are like me and don’t have the best typing skill you may not want to look for ways to make money as a skilled typist however that doesn’t mean you can’t make money. My typing skills are not going to win me any awards as I use the backspace key far too much.

Instead of focusing on sites that pay for content I prefer to have my own sites and work with affiliate marketing in the areas of my hobbies and interests.

As many years as I have been typing I haven’t increased my accuracy or speed so I made a choice and learned about online marketing and affiliate marketing so I make my money today promoting other people’s products.

I have two places I make most of my income, 1) Amazon.com, and 2) Clickbank.com.

Amazon has so many categories that it would be tough to talk about something without being able to find something to promote from Amazon. Clickbank has 10s of thousands of digital products available for your visitors that you can earn money promoting.

Now I don’t have a passion for writing but I do have many passions that I write about and affiliate marketing makes it worth my while. When I am sharing fishing stories I link to books and products from Amazon as well as relevant ebooks from Clickbank.

Getting Traffic To Your Business

If you’re like me and already have a business you may want to take it online and start directing traffic to your business. I make money online directing people to my computer instruction and web design business locally.

Now you’re likely thinking you’re going to have to learn how to build a website or hire someone and maybe that’s not in the budget at this time. We all know times are tough. So…

… go with a blog. This way all you need to invest in is a keyworded domain name and a place to host your new domain. From there I would go with a WordPress blog.

I use GoDaddy.com to buy all my domains and for my hosting needs it’s HostGator.com all the way.

I stick with GoDaddy for my domains because they are affordable and I’ve had only positive experience there. The same goes for HostGator, they have only helped me and of course are affordable for the beginner marketer.
