Well you have finally done it. You have packed in the rubbish job and told your boss exactly what you  think. You have taken the plunge and made the decision to begin your own affiliate marketing business.  Affiliate Marketing can be very lucrative. It provides people with the opportunity to work for  themselves with very little risk to them. Those that are sales savvy, good at marketing and are not  afraid of a little hard work can often do incredibly well with an internet marketing program.

Affiliate Marketing sounds easy but you do need to exercise some caution. You want to avoid the  affiliate marketing pitfalls that can ruin your business and worse, have you crawling on your hands  and knees back to that boss that now knows how you truly feel.

People tend to get excited when they start a new venture. Unfortunately this excitement and eagerness  can cause them to miss key things in their agreement. Whenever you sign up for an affiliate marketing  program, you will be expected to sign an agreement. The terms and conditions of the agreement for both  sides should be outlined. However, if they would like to hide something this is where they will put it. It  will either be in the small print, so get your magnifying glass out, or they’ll baffle you with  legal language. Either way, you need to read and understand your agreement thoroughly to avoid disappointment and lost earnings.

If you are signing up for a commission based affiliate marketing program then you need to understand  how the term revenue is defined. This is one of the biggest pitfalls of the contracts. They may advertise 5-10% commissions but it all fall on how they define revenue. Most internet marketing  programs will calculate commission on the gross value of the sale. In other words, the amount of money  the site will get at the completion of the sale. You may think that this sounds great. However, you  need to read this part of the agreement very carfully. The amount of the sale almost always excludes  credit card or debit card payment surcharges. They also are likely to exclude payment and delivery  charges as well as any gift wrapping or other surcharges. What sounded like a nice commission is soon  shrinking before your eyes. Ask these questions specifically before you sign an agreement.

Some affiliate programs are even stricter in their definition of revenue. Your commission might be based  on the profit margin of the sold product. For example, if you help sell a book for 20 dollars however the company only makes 10 dollars profit, you’ll receive a percentage of 10 dollars not 20. This can make  a substantial difference in your earnings. Again, make sure you understand these things and ask  specifically what your commission will be based upon. Read your agreement and look out for odd  sounding clauses. These could come back to haunt you later.

Another thing to beware of when you work on commission is returns. Many affiliate marketing companies  only pay commission out on completed sales and then only if the customer keeps the item. If they  return the items your commission might be cancelled. To really rub salt in the wounds, you may be billed for the outstanding commission if you do not have sufficient commission credit built up. Make  sure you understand this before signing on. You cannot expect a company to pay you a commission on an  item that’s returned but make sure you understand their return policy. Find out your rights in this  situation.

Affiliate Marketing can be a great way to make money online. If you have good sales and marketing skills then  it can give you the chance to out them to good use. You’ll be able to work for yourself and not  someone who undervalues and doesn’t appreciate them. One needs to consider internet marketing carefully. Make sure you understand your agreement and exactly what you will be paid for. You don’t  want to have to go crawling back to your boss begging for the old job back.

A Guide To Improving Search Engine Ranking

Before getting into affiliate marketing, I would build up websites for other businesses.  I’d figure out what they needed and got the right product to them.  I knew a lot about online marketing before way before teaching internet marketing.

I am a mother and I wanted to stay home with my kids.  This was a big jump for me.  I also became an SEO expert.

I’m glad I decided to go that route.  Whenever I’m on the road, I can operate my business from where ever I am at.  I went from working in offices to working out of my home and I’m thrilled I made the choice to do just that.

I sell other people’s products.  Some people say that you’re building up someone else’s business, but I don’t look at it that way.  I have my mailing list that I use to email out offers to others too.  So I’m building up my business at the same time.

I did the same thing when I was building websites for other companies.  I found some great web hosting accounts, merchant features and mailing list options that others could use.  To be able to offer the best possible service, I had to sell other people’s products.

Doing what I was doing back then isn’t much different then what I am doing now except I don’t work that closely with people.  I made the sale and the company handled all the technical support.  It worked out well for me.  Depending on how you set things up, there could be a lot of money in it for you.

I love working online.  You can choose what kind of people you work with and just how far you are willing to go.  There is a piece of the pie for everyone.

I’m a master super affiliate.  I bring all the traffic to my own websites through SEO.  I just love what I do now.  When your website is at the top of the search engines, it makes you feel really good.  I start out my websites with a certain niche.  Then I do my keyword research and construct it around a subject matter.  It is better to make your site around a theme then the product.

I’ll pick the main keyword and put in into my domain name.  Then I’ll build categories around the other keyword phrases.  This is all apart of my SEO plan.  Two to three words make up a category.  Then I put up a blog.  I’ll write articles around the longer tailed keywords.  I find a good use for all of my keywords.  I start off from the top and work my way down.  The reason I use the longer tailed keywords in as my content is because this is great for the search engines.  It takes a few months to put together, but after you set up your website, you’re ready to make money as an affiliate marketer.

What does it take to become a successful Affiliate Marketer? What are the ingredients of an affiliate marketing success story? Is there a shortcut to Affiliate Marketing glory? All these questions play around in the minds of affiliate marketers who want to make it big in this business.

Although affiliate marketing is touted as one of the easiest and most effective ways to earn money online, it is not as easy as it sounds. The wise affiliate marketer plans every action and executes it the best way he can. He should also maximize the potential to earn by utilizing the right tools necessary for a successful Affiliate Marketing business. We have consulted some of the most successful affiliate marketers in the business and below are the top three necessary tools for a successful affiliate marketing business.

Important Tool #1: Your Own Website

The most important and indispensable tool in Affiliate Marketing is your own website. The first step in any successful affiliate marketing business is building a good, credible and professional looking website. Your website is the jump off point of all your marketing efforts. Thus, you must first build a user-friendly website, which will appeal to your prospects and encourage them to click on the links to the products and service you are promoting and make a purchase. Therefore, you must first concentrate your efforts in building a website that will cater to what your prospects need.

The most important thing you should consider is that almost all web users go online to look for information, not necessarily to go and buy something. Above all else, make your website full of original, relevant and useful content. People will love articles that are appealing and helpful. Keep in mind that, in the internet, content is still king and good quality content will not only build your credibility, it can also help you achieve a higher search engine ranking. By posting relevant and useful articles, you establish yourself as a credible expert in the field, making you a more trustworthy endorser of the product or service you promote. Establishing a good reputation is a good step in building up a loyal consumer base.

Important Tool #2: Incentives

Competition is extremely tight in the internet world. You must always be one-step ahead of your rivals to ensure that you capture a significant share of your target market. Therefore, you must use every possible means to encourage people not only to visit your site but also to click and proceed to the websites of the products and services you are promoting. Building an opt-in email list is one of the best ways to gather prospects. Offer a newsletter or an e-zine. Better yet, offer incentives to your prospects to encourage them to subscribe to your newsletters. You can present free softwares, access to exclusive services and other freebies that will be helpful to your prospects.

Important Tool #3: Link Popularity

The importance of driving highly targeted traffic to your website cannot be emphasized enough. The all-important web traffic is at the top of the list of the most important entities in the internet world. Attracting people to your site should be the first step you should carry out. Do everything to achieve a high search engine ranking. Link Popularity is one of the factors that search engines use to determine search engine rankings. Therefore, to enhance your link popularity, you must launch an aggressive reciprocal link campaign.

One of the best ways to do this – at no cost at all – is by submitting articles, with your website’s link at the resource box, to e-zines and free article sites. You will not only gain exposure, you will also have the opportunity to advertise for free, just include a link back to your site. The more sites you submit your articles to, the better your link popularity is. Make your articles original, relevant and useful so that more websites will pick it up and post it.

These are but three of the many tools that an affiliate marketer can use to maximize earning potential. The possibilities are endless and are limited only by your imagination, creativity, resourcefulness and determination. You can always explore other ideas and adapt other strategies, which you think might help you become a high rolling affiliate marketer.

Successful Online Marketing Tips

Online promoting has become so favoured it’s being used by advertisers all around the globe. Thanks to the discovery of net, everything is just at the end of our fingertips. We can do almost anything and everything we wanted to!

For the business industry, promotions and ads are made easier and faster by the web. Plus, it has broaden its audience to the whole wide world. The way to have a good web site is to have a lot of visitors viewing it. Here is where affiliate marketing gets in the picture.

Affiliate marketing wants determination and effort to gain success. It may be hard at the beginning, but giving up at an early stage won’t do your web site any good. Additional patience is required in affiliate marketing because you’d need to try hard on it. you can always have the option to hire and pay somebody to help with the job.

Before leaping into affiliate marketing, it is always advised to be equipped with a little knowledge or background regarding it. Every program has each benefits and disadvantages of their own. It is up to the advertisers to select the one which has the strongest and widest range of target and which one would help their website the most. It is advisable to adhere to the program that works rather well and patronize it after becoming successful.

what is good in affiliate marketing is that you can be your own boss, you can even work or market at the comfort of your own house. You can work anywhere and anytime of the day you wished to.

To achieve success in affiliate marketing, you have to search for a marketing strategy which will provide reliable affiliates that may prove they’re not fake. Research about the promoters, if you may. Know the history of the promoters and gather feedback from clients, if you can. It should be in a position to give out clear and complete information to clients.

Once your internet site is finished, promotion of the products thru various means can now be done. Do some trial and error in advertising.

Experiment on which advertising scheme will fit your web site best and stick to that management. Mixing strategies will give a different twist to the internet site, which can sometimes be a brilliant idea because it will generate more sales and income for the company.

Infrequently, making the correct decision as well as selecting the right associates to deal with can make a major difference. Choose cleverly, select reliable affiliates and market for more substantial profits on the web.

You can also learn a lot of strategies from programs by famous internet Marketers like John Reese.

John is all set to release his latest program called the Outsource Force. It’s obvious that Outsource Force is about outsourcing.  But, it’s not the traditional outsourcing that most Internet business owners think of when they hear about outsourcing.  There’s a different way to look at, and do, outsourcing that’s almost radically different than the hassles that you might have had to deal with in the past.

You can read more about Outsource Force on our internet marketing blog

Affiliate Marketing Tips For Beginners

Developing The Right Merchant Mindset at Affil...

Many online marketers choose a popular marketing method that involves being an affiliate for various companies. You can still market as an affiliate if you prefer offline because it can be done either way. In time you will encounter those too good to be true program offers. If you haven’t yet, you’ll see affiliate programs that state they’ll give you everything under the sun for $1? Very good probability that it’s a set-up – a scam. So just be careful if something seems extremely cheap and way over-delivering. Here are a few hints to help you out.

You can easily find many online marketers with their own product lines, and they’ll probably tell you they cut their Internet Marketing teeth with affiliate marketing. The reason for this is, like so many others, marketing other people’s products appeared an easy way to go. Since it’s not your product, then it kind of looks like you just get your affiliate links and you’re all set. Of course you can do this, but if you do you may not make the money you are expecting. What you’ll have to do is bring your hard-work ethic with you.

Here are some tricks that you can use to increase your sales and make the process a little easier for yourself.Simple idea, really – just manage to sell a product that’s not your own, and when you do you’ll receive a percentage of the profits. There’s nothing stopping you from marketing your affiliate products offline, too.

Be forewarned because you will eventually run into some who advertise their programs as huge commissions with no effort. Another problem is that many new affiliate marketers get discouraged when they figure out how much work is actually involved in generating sales and conversions. Keep reading to learn some proven affiliate marketing tips that will genuinely help you if you use them. Those who are looking to make money online often choose this type of marketing because it appears to be the easiest.

It doesn’t take long for these same people to realize that there is more to affiliate marketing than meets the eye. A lot of people point to that and say affiliate marketing is ineffective. Listen… truth here about it is affiliate marketing can be insanely profitable, but only if you’re willing to accept the work it requires and then do it. So read on and learn how to get those conversions going and make money. The reason for this is the profits available with affiliate marketing are hard to ignore. The reason this type of online money making is so popular is because it looks easy. All you have to do is promote a product or service and then earn a commission. You do know it can be time-consuming and need a lot of effort on your part. The truth about affiliate marketing is that it is not easy. But if your mental game is right, it absolutely can be very rewarding. Here are some tips to help you increase your profits as an affiliate marketer.

It will help you a lot when you’re just starting out to promote something you that know something about. A lot of times you’ll see words about writing about what you know. Ok, take that advice and apply it to marketing in general and especially to affiliate marketing. Select a product you know about, and the same holds true for the market.

It’s easy… as an example, if you love all things beauty and personal care, then you can become an affiliate for those products and join programs like Mary Kay or Avon. This will make it a lot easier for you to get started because the information is already in your head. Your selling will not be as difficult because you know the customer’s language and will be completely relaxed about it. Since you’re in your own market, you’ll be able to know what will motivate people to buy those products.

"LOVE" in Thailand..HaPpy ValenTine'...
Image by Thai Jasmine via Flickr

It’s great to work from home and earn money affiliate marketing. For me personally affiliate marketing has given me the most earning online. It sure beats having to meet people face to face and dealing with customers. Not that I hate people but it’s so much easier letting the affiliate program owner deal with affiliates while I earn commission.

No Shipping Required On My Part

No dealing with products means I don’t have to have stock. I also don’t have to ship anything, which can be a pain in the behind as I found when I tried buying products to sell and ship myself. A whole lot of work.

I did enjoy the money I earned doing it all myself but once I found out about affiliate marketing I realized I would have so much more time to focus on marketing products for others. No storage or shipping saved me time and I made more money.

I don’t suggest you quit your day job to work from home like I did because I had a few times when I was ready to give it all up and go back to working for someone else. Instead I should have started affiliate marketing from home in my spare time and build it to the point I could quit my day job.

All you need is one good niche to market to properly and you can make a great living online. Starting multiple streams of income with various niches can make you richer than you ever dreamed but it all has to start with that first sale.

Work From Home Working Your Passions

Writing sample: Lamy Vista

I have about 20 web sites on the go at any given time. Most of these sites are outside of my range of expertise which is fine and I make money with them but I have the most fun and the least amount of writers block with the web sites that revolve around my passions, or hobbies and interests.

I’ll admit that I didn’t do much research on niches my hobbies fall into. I guess I was quite fortunate with them as they were all niches that I spend money on.

The main thing about making money with my hobbies was the words I chose to focus on. I didn’t focus on money words I just wrote about my experiences and still made money, just not a lot of it.

Later I learned that with a bit of research I could find keywords that got me far more traffic without any more effort in writing. The only thing that changed was the words I used to express myself. Money words.

Spending just a little bit of time before you start writing and focusing on a few search engine optimization tactics that are pretty simple made the difference between earning pennies per click and real money, on a regular basis.

I make most of my money through affiliate marketing and have found that The Affiliate Code video course from Michael Jones to be a great source of good information and guidance.

Once I started following Michael’s advice and tips it was easy to make more money, faster. The fact that the training is all on videos was a bonus because I do so much better when someone shows me how to succeed using video.

Classic Triumph Bass Fly tied by Jeremy Acre

“Can I REALLY Make A Living On The Internet?”

I am asked that question all the time and my answer is the same pretty much every time. “YES, you can if you are willing to learn how”.

It’s pretty simple. Those willing to learn have an opportunity to work from home and make a good living online. Those who just jump into online marketing without any knowledge or experience will usually go at it for a few months and when the money doesn’t start rolling in they call the Internet a scam and quit.

The opportunities abound on the Internet, all one has to do is learn the ropes, just like any task in life, it takes a bit of learnin’.

One Thing At A Time

I would say my biggest stumbling block to online success was the fact I tried to do way too much. I thought that if I could make a little money with one site I could make a little from a lot of sites. Well that’s true but it involves a whole lot more work and we only have 24 hours a day. I soon crumbled under all that work and my heart gave out. Lesson learned.

It took a few years come out of that tail spin and gain enough strength to continue working online but it was a slow road back. Now I try to do one thing at a time and do it right before moving on to something else. I also dropped about 15 sites.

Find Something You Know To Work Online

What really turned things around for my online business was to start working things I loved to do. That made my life a whole lot easier and you can do the same thing and save your self a lot of headaches.

Sharing Your Knowledge With Others Makes Money

I tell people this all the time. Take what’s in your head and share it with others. Unfortunately 90% of people think they have nothing to share. I’ll admit that I thought that way to and all it did was hold me back. I am knowledgeable on certain topics but it seems to be a reaction most people have.

A lot of the people that tell me they have nothing people would want to know have the tendency to talk your ear off about things they have done and what they know. These are people that have far more education than I do but they have a mental block about making money with what they know.

When I am talking with people now I and they say they don’t have anything people would pay to know I start talking about my hobbies, like fishing as that’s my favourite hobby.

I Want To Be Able To Do That Too

Let me give you an example: I work from home with a number of fishing blogs. I loive to fish and spend as much time as I can do just that. I learn a lot on my own and from fishing buddies. That info makes me money online through my fishing sites.

When I find a bait, lure or artificial fly that works well for a specific species I like to share that info with my readers and visitors. I just find an affiliate program that sells what I am talking about and I link to that product and add a image or two. Like they say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Those that really want to improve their fishing will read my post and say to themselves, ‘ I want to be able to do that too’ and then they buy the product. That’s how I make a little more money online.

If it’s possible pick a niche or topic that you dearly love, like I do fishing, as it will help you to stay more focused for longer while you build your readership.

Gardener Gardening

I work from home and have found plenty of opportunities online to make money. I will admit that I have the most fun making money online through my hobbies and interests. The more I know about something the more opportunity to make money.

I do have web sites I make money with that are not hobbies or interests but I had to put a lot more effort into those sites because I had to research harder and learn more but the time was well invested.

I have also found that I make more money blogging that with static sites. I think this works better because people like blogs more and the most important factor for me is that blogs seem to be updated far more than static sites, so the search engines love them as well.

Host Your Own Domains

I prefer to have full control over what I blog about. For this reason I don’t use free blogging platforms for my important blogs. I have had a blog shut down by Blogger.com because some one complained about something that wasn’t even true. They didn’t even check it, they just shut it down. I had to ask them to check the account. It was down for almost a week before they admitted that I was right and turned it back on.

I do use free blogging platforms to setup blogs that will link to my main domains and pages though. I like to use them for back linking to my other blogs.

When you think about it you can host domains rather cheaply now and you can host multiple domains on one account if you desire to have more than one blog. Registering a domain is only going to cost you about $10 a year. So having and hosting a domain of your own isn’t costly at all but well worth the investment.

Stay Focused on Your Topic

If you are writing for the sake of writing and sharing you can say and do pretty much what ever you like, but if the goal is to make money online working from home you need to be focused on the niche you choose and stay on topic when you are writing. I work from home and blog about home gardening tips and fly fishing for trout and I get to write about my hobbies.

The search engines will send you much more target traffic is you do stay focused but you also need to do some research to see if the keywords you have chosen will make money.

Tips: One method I have used that works for me is to type my phrase into Google’s search engine and then see if there are Adwords ads showing on the right of the results page. If there are no ads showing then it tells me that those words are going to earn me much.

Even before I start a blog to earn money I look for affiliate programs that match my niche. I have a couple of blogs that I didn’t look first and ended up putting in a lot of work just to find I couldn’t get any good affiliate programs. So do your research first.

Magazine Article

Are you searching for total niche domination?

I work from home and have found that article marketing addresses some key marketing strategies. This article will give you a few reasons why you need to market with articles now!

Are you itching to dominate your competitors?Article Marketing can help you with that.

If you are in online marketing for the long haul you will need to continually apply innovative marketing strategies and tactics which can give you that edge you need to succeed. It starts with showing your prospects and clients see you as the expert in your niche.

Utilize the power of traffic coming from article directories and the backlink juice that it gives to your sites. Of course, it would be great to know how to do so that you get the best bang for your invested time and money.

Give your self the required time for article marketing to work. My first real article marketing campaign only took a couple of weeks to start showing results and once it started it kept gaining momentum that surprised me.

These are some of the best reasons for it:

1. Article Marketing Can Be Done Free

Don’t have a big budget, then write and publish your own articles. Just think about it. One article a day and you have 365 articles in a year. If you rewrite each article you can publish across multiple article directories and easily double or triple the amount of articles.

All that for time spent.

2. Find Writers In Counties With Strong English

Personally I have found writers that have good English skills, enough to write great articles. I get people to write articles for niches I don’t have a lot of knowledge in yet. I can get a good article for about $5.00 each, so I can’t go wrong.

3. Others Will Publish Your Articles If They Are Good

Take the time to produce quality content in your articles and others will want them for their own sites, making them viral because they  have to leave your links in the article when they get them from article directories.

Note: People will outright steal your work so keep an eye on your content as you may find it in a lot of places without your links and that’s stealing.

4. Search Engine Optimize Your Articles

An article is only as good as your keywords when it comes to finding your content on Google, so make sure you take the time to know your keywords and use them in the right density, about 1-3%.

Use your keywords in your title and try to use it at the start of the title.

Use your keywords again in the first sentence, every other paragraph and in the last sentence.

Don’t try to use too many keyword phrases, maybe three at the most. I usually don’t go past two keyword phrases in my articles so that it doesn’t look spammy to my readers and the search engines.

5. Make Money With Your Article Marketing

There isn’t much sense writing articles that don’t focus on making you money. Unless you are not even trying to make money, then it’s cool.

Find things in your niche to promote and build pages that you can point to from your articles so that each and every article has the potential to earn you money.

I didn’t do this and now I am going back through hundreds of articles and adding links to affiliate sites. Those are the articles I have on my own blogs and sites. For the articles I have published on article directories I have them pointing to landing pages I created. From the landing page I give readers the link to my affiliate program so as not to violate terms of service for article directories.

I publish to article directories but one thing that is working really well, but costs a little which is worth every penny, is to use My Article Network to publish my articles across about 10,000 other blogs.

Note: I have told a few friends and associates how I started getting tons of backlinks to my blogs. First write a few articles in your niches, being sure you focus on paying keywords. I started with 10 articles over 4 niches.

Then, after they were already done I purchased a membership at My Article Network and published those articles immediately. Doing it this way I have a full month before I had to cancel my membership if I felt the need.

When I cancelled my membership my articles were not deleted but they stopped being published. That was cool I already had my articles published over hundreds of blogs and already saw my ranking going up in just a month. I did cancel my membership and watched them over the next two months.

It worked great and I started my membership again, after writing a bunch more articles. I again published them immediately and gave them the month to spread out across those blogs.

My other articles became actively promoted across the blogs again so they started getting even more attention and I was making money by this point, because of my keyword focus.

No longer a need to cancel my membership.

I found out later that if you renew within 90 days you will not lose the articles you have in your account. Although the articles already published remain published and keep working for you.

Of course My Article Network offers a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied. I didn’t even think about asking for a refund. Even my wife was impressed and that’s not easy. So get over to My Article Network and give it a try.
