Work From Home Tips: 3 Free Traffic Methods
Most marketers work from home part time where they are constantly running into brick walls trying to get sufficient traffic to their web pages. Reading so much crap online just give one a big headache and no real answers, how frustrating is that.
Here a few things that can help you get that all important traffic.
1. Link To Your Content and To Other People’s Content
Backlinking is vital in online marketing and even more the more content there is. It’s a constant battle to get search engine placement. That’s why you hear so much about article marketing today.
The fact that there is so much content available and so much duplicate content search engines have to find a way to show the most relevant content and part of that is backlinking. Who is linking to your web pages?? The more people that do link to your pages the more it appears you are an expert in your niche.
The key is to keep your anchor text, the text you use to link to your web pages, varied so it looks natural to the search engines and you will see your URL moving closer to the first page and that coveted first position.
The other part of the equation is to link to other people’s sites, people that have great content.
Next one must realize the importance of commenting on other people’s blogs. Even though the links will most likely be NoFollow links the blog owner and visitors will see your comment, as long as it’s close to the first one, and may respond by visiting your site.
2. Use Meta Tags For Description and Keywords
Meta tags have been way over abused but they still have some value in some search engines so use them wisely.
Your meta tags don’t show up on your page to be viewed by your visitors. They’re actually in the source code of your web page for the search engines to see.
One meta tag you can see is the Title tag which appears on the top of your browser window. It also is the most important meta tag as it’s the tag that will appear in most search engines when you do a search. If it’s not created to be effective people will just skip past them in the search engines. Lost free traffic, bummer.
3. Make Your Content Great And Use Your Keywords
I see so many web sites that have a fairly good title, enough to get me to click in a search engine’s results page but once I get there the content sucks. It looks like speed was the goal, not quality and I imagine their conversion rate shows their success, or lack of it.
No one is going to read crap and then pull out their wallets. We want quality content that is helpful or we just leave and most likely never return.
It’s important to find the best keywords, which doesn’t mean the top keywords. You want keywords that get traffic but you don’t want to be stomped on by your competition right from the start. For this reason you want keywords that still get traffic but keywords that get ignored by most top marketers because they don’t bring in enough traffic.
I’d rather get a lot of traffic from lessor keywords and still make money than go for the top keywords and see no traffic at all.
