Getting More Traffic To My Blog
I was reading a comment from Michael on one of my make money online blogs today and thought I would write a post to help Mike.
Please feel free to chip and with your own comments. I am sure Mike will appreciate all the help we are able to give him.
Mike’s having a problem getting the type of traffic he needs to his blog in order to make money online.
Leaving Comments on Blogs
I get a lot of blog comments each and every day but I don’t accept many of them as most as blatant spam. So the first thing when commenting to get traffic is to never spam.
You can’t get traffic from comments that get deleted, right.
I get a lot of my target traffic from blogs I comment on. So what do I do that makes commenting work for me.
My Blog Commenting Success Keys
1. Be The First To Comment
I have found I get a whole lot more visitors from those blog I manage to be first to comment on.
It just makes good sense to be first. Well maybe even as far as #5 but any further and you may be over looked by the blog readers and sometimes even the blog owner.
Don’t bother bookmarking the blogs you want to comment on as you will find it gets out of control pretty fast. Instead use a blog feed reader like Bloglines or Google Reader.
This way you will be able to include all the blogs you wish to follow and comment on. Plus you will be able to see at a glance which ones have new posts. This has allowed me to really get a handle on commenting.
2. Show The Owner of The Blog You Read Their Post
Respect others and you will do better, so be sure you never ever spam in comments! Instead add value by including something that helped you in the post. Don’t be afraid to ask for help either.
I like nothing more than being able to help someone, just like other bloggers do, so ask away.
Doing this can also get other readers of the blog to chip in with some helpful info. Plus they are more likely to go to your site and check it out.
About the spam thing. I reject about 90 or more percent of comments due to spam and you can’t get traffic if your comment is deleted.
3. Don’t Forget To Leave Your Link
Blog owners and readers won’t be able to visit your site if you neglect to leave a link in the URL field. It’s also worth noting here that leaving a link in the URL field means you don’t need to leave the same link in the actually comment. That annoys blog owners, well me anyways.
Don’t Look Like You’re Writing For Money
When I am writing content, whether for my own sites or for publishing elsewhere I write to share. I let making money enter my mind, it’s not needed and can actually make your writing seem forced.
Be natural. When I am writing for my fishing blogs I write about what makes me a better fisher. Sharing what I used on a particular day to catch more fish than my buddy is what my readers want to know.
Then of course I include an affiliate link or two to the products that make fishing days more fun.
Just that simple.
Write Keyworded Articles To Publish
You now have helpful content on your site, that’s using your best keywords. Those keywords you found during your niche research. So it’s time to start publishing keyworded content around the web linking back to your web pages.
There are hundreds and even thousands of sites online you will be able to leave backlinks the search engines and other readers will find. Here a few suggestions.
- Blogging As A Guest on Relevant Blogs
- Publish Articles to Article Directories
- Join A Few Article Networks
- Create Accounts With Web 2.0 Sites
I have found the main success key for article marketing is to create unique content that’s keyworded.
- NEVER publish duplicate content as the search engines will rank you better for unique content.
- Keyword your hyperlinks with a variety of keyword phrases. It appears more natural to search engines.
I spent my first few years online rewriting content manually. I would use my thesaurus and swap out works and reword entire sentences. Then I found I just had too many blogs going to keep up with all the content. that when I purchased The Best Spinner and automated things a bit.
Now I can rewrite in a fraction of the time and spend more time focusing on other aspects of money making online.
Don’t write for money, share what you know, you will make money.
