In this article I would like to show you 5 simple yet highly effective tactics you can employ with your own work from home business to quickly improve your search engine ranking:

Step 1: Write some articles about your chosen niche.

Writing and then publishing articles using online article directories such as E-Zine articles, Article City or Go Articles can be one of the best ways to improve your search engine ranking through targeted optimization of your website.By linking from these articles back to your site you are not only able to generate more visitors to your site but more importantly you will be building a network of relevant back links to your website which will be picked up by the search engines. The search engines such as Google having seen that your site is linked to other relevant content will then improve your search engine ranking.

If you want to increase the number of back links to your site you might use paid services such as Submit Your Article or Auto Article Marketing. Both of these services will distribute you article to a larger network of article sites which in turn will create even more relevant links to your site.

Step 2: Use link building networks.

As I mentioned in the previous step the larger the number of relevant back links you have the greater the authority the search engines such as Google will place on your site. So make it your objective to get your site linked to as many relevant high page rank sites as possible.

This can of course be a time consuming task as you could face endless hours posting on blogs just to build up your back links. I would recommend Link Varna which is a service that automates link distribution for you so you can spend more time on other aspects of your business.

Step 3: Write and submit press releases.

Web site promotion and internet marketing in the wrong hands can be an expensive venture. This is why I like press releases so much as they are an efficient and cost-effective way to promote a website to a large number of people. There are a number of press release submission sites which are used by marketers and press alike. One example of this is PRLeap who will amazingly distribute your press release free of charge. When submitting a press release or article you must always remember that the aim is to drive traffic to your site and to improve your search engine ranking through quality back links. Therefore, always remember to include a link back to your website by including your URL in the resource box which is normally at the bottom of article and press release submissions.

Step 4: Use social media.

I am sure many people reading this are familiar with social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter. How many people though actually use these sites or other third party sites such as Weebly, Squidoo, Quizilla or Hub Pages to direct people to your website. One of the most effective tactics you might use is to create feeder pages on these sites to send visitors to your own website. By creating a blog on a third party site to which you can post pictures and news about your business you will take advantage of internet browsers casually looking round these sites for information about your particular niche. Again, the most important thing to do with each of these is to link directly back to your website which again will add more relevant back links to your website. Do you see a pattern emerging here?

Step 5: Post comments in forums.

Forums are an amazing place to find people who have an active interest in your market. As you are already knowledgeable about the subject matter of your market it takes very little effort to add comments in forums specific to your niche. Most forums will give you the option to include your website URL in the signature of your forum post. Search engines love forums as they are constantly updated, so a number of posts within a relevant forum can have almost instant effect on you search engine ranking.
