Work From Home And Time To Start Your First LinkWheel
Once I stopped looking for reciprocal links and started building my own links back to my web pages my page rank started going up on most of my blogs. Sometimes I am a bit slow to catch on to things. My dad used to ask me if I was always this stupid or if I had been practicing.
What is a LinkWheel?
You can think of a linkwheel like a bicycle wheel with the hub in the center and spokes connecting to the outer wheel for strength and stability. Well that’s kinda what a linkwheel is like.
In the middle of the wheel, the hub, is your money site while the spokes are the links from other pages and web sites, all pointing back to your money site.
With just one spoke your wheel would not work and would just collapse, however start add more spokes and you add more strength or as a linkwheel more backlink power to help increase page rank.
LinkWheels Are Work
There are a couple of ways to build linkwheels. 1. You can pay someone to do it for you and save a lot of time and effort, 2. You can take your time and build the linkwheel yourself.
Yes, it does take work to build a successful linkwheel but the work, if done correctly, will pay you back with traffic to your money site. Once there it’s just a matter of converting visitors into customers.
Linkwheels start out being easy but require a lot of work to make them pay off. Just keep in mind the work is worth the effort.
How To Build A LinkWheel
Let me explain how I build a linkwheel by going through the steps I took to show a fishing buddy how he could create his own linkwheel for his new fishing blogs.
Step 1: Have Good Content To Link To
The first step is to decide on your money site. For Jamie, he had been blogging about his fishing experience and sharing tips on what he uses to catch what he catches. So his first step was complete and that is to have good content to link back to, content with affiliate links or other methods of making an income.
Note: You don’t have to have a blog, you could just as easily have a static web site promoting affiliate products. The key is really to have this as a money site.
Step 2: Start A Spreadsheet To Track Your Links
My first few linkwheels got very confusing because I didn’t keep track of everything I did and soon I was lost and confused. Don’t do what I did, instead do what I am telling you now.
Use a separate sheet for each of your linkwheels.
Step 3: Focus on Your Keywords, it’s Vital
I feel the need to point out just how important your keywords are. I have instructor others in the past without mentioning their value in backlinks and they just didn’t bother.
When ever you are writing or linking from pages or to pages always, always, always, focus on your keywords. At least one main keyword phrase and one or two lessor keywords, per article, making sure they are relevant to what you are linking to.
Step 4: Learn How To Spin Articles
A real time saver for me was rewriting articles that I have already written. I even use private lable rights articles to speed the entire process. The key is being unique so put some effort into this.
-
I personally like to change something in each and every sentence, even if it’s just getting out my thesaurus to use synonyms.
-
I will also change the sentences and paragraphs around a bit if it doesn’t destroy the thought process in the article.
-
I will also add something at the beginning, middle and end of the article to make it even more unique.
Note: I publish articles on SEOLinkVine and use the article spinning features there. I get a lot of article published but I also get more content to spread around other sites. All saving me hours and hours of valueable time.
Step 5: Where To Start Building Backlinks For Your LinkWheel
-
Article Directories – Find the top article directories, those with the highest PR and submit unique articles, keyworded of course, and linked back to your money site. Note: EzineArticles.com is tops for me.
-
Build Lenses/Pages on Squidoo.com – Goto Squidoo.com and start a lens, which is really just a web page. Try to use your keyword from your money site in the title and of course throughout the page without spamming keywords.
-
Build Pages at HubPages.com – Do the same thing you did on Squidoo but just change it up a bit so the content you use is unique. The more unique your content is the better as far as the search engines see things.
-
Guest Post on Other People’s Blogs – For this to work well you will most likely need to find the blogs you would like to guest post on and then start leaving helpful comments.
After a time of comment with value-added content as the blog owner if you might make a guest post. Do a good job or it won’t get accepted.
-
Don’t Forget The Social Media Sites – There are so many socialbookmarking and media sites online that it makes my head spin but with a little work and thought you can get tons of links back to your money sites.
-
Bonus Point – Video Sites – If you can make a few videos and spread them around the video sites, like Youtube and Tubmogul you will have many more links for your linkwheel.
I have been getting tons of backlinks from SEOLinkVine and their article spinner features allows me to write articles that produce multiple unique articles, which gives me many more useful backlinks for my own linkwheels.
